This course is divided into three units. In the first unit, we will examine the nature of prudential and what goes into having a good life. That is, we will investigate various theories of well-being. In the second unit, we will explore a number of normative ethical theories. These theories aim to give an account of which acts are morally permissible, forbidden, and obligatory. In the third and final unit, we will investigate various forms of ethical pluralism as well as discuss some metaethical issues.
